Is there any chance someone can tag them with the people's names. It has been so long I don't recognize many of the faces.

2010-03-30T05:43:04-04:00Favorite MomentFavorite Moments/Events
There are some moments or events that stand out more than others. Let's start a discussion on your favorite moment or event at SRHS. I think everyone would like to hear about your favorite. I'll start. Please share your best moments.

Swim Team Parties - First, if everyone know about what went on at these parties, I am sure the swim team would have been 10 times larger (or expelled). All the details of these parties are still considered classified and the names have been changed to protect the guilty. Let me just say, that between the shaving parties and the trips to the beach (Who remembers the "Range Rick" situation?), there are a lot of stories that are best kept classified but a great time was had by all.

Last Play Touchdown - The hail mary pass down the right sideline on the last play against Montgomery for the win. What a great way to beat the cross town rivals.

I totally agree with all that you said. I have many fond memories of school.

Like you I did a lot of stupid things back then, but hopefully people know

that we were just dumb kids and made a lot of mistakes and that we all

grew up and are not those same dumb kids.

2010-03-04T11:59:14-04:0030 Years Later - Just some thoughts30 Years Later - Just some thoughts
Good Morning to all from Houston, Texas. About a week ago (or maybe 2), I can across this website by accident and had to go see what it was all about. I am glad that I did. Honestly, I haven't thought much about SRHS and my classmates since I left California in 1982 to come to Texas, but looking through all the pictures and profiles, the memories have come flooding back both good and bad. What a strange yet wonderful time it was.

The first thing I notice was the tab "In Memory". Just the thought of looking was challenging because I know what I would find would not be pleasant but upon looking at the names and pictures, it was a very sobbering moment. We were indistructable or at least we thought we were in High School. I guess not.

I was discussing the possibility of attending the 30 Year Reunion with my wife Anne that evening after I had been to the website and she asked a question that had been asked 100's of times before and I always said "Hell No", but this time, I changed my answer to "Hell Yes". The question was "If you could go back to High School, would you go back and do it all over again"? I said YES with 2 conditions; (1) I get to return to my current life later. I am not prepared to give up my family and life that I have today to go back and (2) I get to remember all the things I know now about life, people and myself when I did go back. Why such a drastic change just because I went to this website?

The answer is easy. None of us are the same people we were 30 years ago. Most of my clear memories of High School are not pleasant. It seems that we remember the mistakes we made and the difficult times more that we remember the successes (maybe because there were so many more mistakes to remember). Here is what I have learned since High School.

(1) LIFE is not Fair, But It's Still Good.

(2) Love is better than Hate

(3) Learn to Love and Be Loved.

(3) Caring About Others is more rewarding than caring about yourself.

(4) Judge a person by their deeds and what is in their heart, not by their personality, the color of their skin, how much is in their bank account or their current situation.

(5) When around people that you care about and that care about you, pay attention to every enjoyable moment and fill your memories with the simple memories that put a smile on your face.

(6) Take lots and lots of pictures (its a great afternoon looking through the boxes of pictures years later).

(7) Be Thankful for everything YOU have right now. You may not have it tomorrow.

(8) Have Courage !!!!!!!

(9) The FUTURE has nothing to do with the past unless you let it.

(10) Do Unto Other as you would have them do to you. If you want people to be friendly to you, be friendly to them first and always. If you want people to smile when they see you, make sure you are smiling when you see them. If you want people to love you, then love them. If you want people to trust you, you must trust them. If you want to be interesting, be interested in others. If you want to receive, then you have to give.

There are 1000's of lessons that we have all learned over the last 30 years and as we look forward to the upcoming reunion and the great time together getting caught up with the news of 30 years, I am sure that everyone will have a few moments of reflection not only back to 1980, but over the time since then. I look forward to "Meeting" the new you later this year and sharing the good memories of the "Days".
